My journey with resin started the same way it does for a lot of people, by watching videos on YouTube and Instagram. I was fascinated by all the things people were creating: domino sets, pyramids, coasters, and so much more. I couldn’t stop watching.
In 2020, I finally decided to try it for myself. I bought my first small resin kit, a domino mold and a pyramid mold, and just like that, I made my very first pyramids and my first domino set. Looking back, they were far from perfect but they meant everything to me at the time.
Creativity has always been a part of who I am. Even when I was younger, crafting and creating were my way of coping, a therapeutic outlet that helped keep my mind off things that weren’t so positive in my life. Resin quickly became another way for me to express myself and find peace through creating.
For about a year, I experimented nonstop. I watched tutorials, studied other artists’ work, and taught myself through trial and error. At the beginning, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and it showed 😅. I dealt with sticky pieces, bubbles, cracked molds, and more failed pours than I can count. I didn’t fully understand how much temperature, mixing, and timing could affect the final result.
But I didn’t give up.
Instead, I kept experimenting, learning, and trying again. Over time, resin became more than just a hobby. I started testing different techniques, colors, molds, and resin brands. Every pour taught me something new, and little by little, my confidence grew along with my skills.
That’s how Syramid Studio came to life.
In 2021, I decided to turn my passion into a small business and officially created Syramid Studio. And yes I get asked this all the time the name “Syramid” is my name backward. My name is Dimarys, and thanks to my parents’ creativity, it worked perfectly both ways.
What started as a creative outlet turned into a brand built on patience, growth, and intention. Every piece I make reflects years of learning, trial and error, and genuine love for the craft. I don’t rush the process, because I’ve learned that quality always comes first.
Even now, I’m still learning. I’m constantly working with new resins, trying new mediums, and refining my process. Resin always has something new to teach you—and that’s one of the reasons I continue to love it so much.
Syramid Studio isn’t just about the final product. It’s about the journey behind every piece, the lessons learned along the way, and the joy of creating something meaningful.
